Cable Specifications
Mass: 1 grams/meter (4 fiber versions); 2 grams/meter (12 fiber versions)
Outer Jacket: All Fluoropolymer Design
Temperature range: -55°C to +125°C
Maximum Bend Radius: 0.5" (12.7mm)
The 100% fluoropolymer outer jacket guards against degradation due to chemicals, fluids, and solvents common to mil-aero environments. The inherent toughness of the fluoropolymer outer jacket guards the fiber ribbon against damage due to handling, as well as mechanical abuse encountered in service. Expanded PTFE buffering system is 70% air and effectively isolates the fiber. Optical performance of a Gore cable closely approximates that of a bare optical fiber even under mechanical or thermal stresses. At just 0.020” thick and 0.130” wide (for a 12 fiber construction), the cable has the small profile and flexibility of telecom ribbon cable while meeting the environmental requirements of mil-aero applications.
